Heath, mezzo-soprano and Rebecca
Heath, soprano are young, up-and-coming Australian-American
opera singers, performing leading roles in opera productions in their
native Texas and around the world. But as far back as they can
remember, they have always been The
Heath Sisters, performing duets for audiences with the
kind of vocal compatibility and harmony only achieved by siblings.

Heath, mezzo-soprano Rebecca
Meaghan and Rebecca Heath
began their singing careers almost exclusively as a duet, performing
mostly Australian folk music and American popular and Broadway tunes.
At the ages of ten and twelve, they became a hit on the Australian
radio station 4BC,
singing “I Am Australian” leading to the making of
a music video which aired on Australian National television for the Australian Broadcasting
Corporation. This led to several duet concerts such as
opening the Australian
Consulate at the Baker
Institute, performing at the three-day annual Embassy Flower Mart
event at the National Cathedral in Washington D.C., and performing as
the opening act for the famous Australian act, Pot Pourri, as well as
the Asian Society Gala
at the Ritz Carlton. In May of 2010, the Heath Sisters performed a Duet
Benefit Concert, “Moments of Beauty,” for the Lady of Walsingham Institutes of
Catholic Culture Studies in Houston, singing their
favorite selections from Classical, Broadway, Popular, and Sacred music
genres. Meaghan and Rebecca Heath have been booked as a duet for
various events and recitals around Houston, including as the Christmas
entertainment for The Petroleum Club in Houston for 2010 and 2011.
Between their opera engagements, they are currently working on their
first Heath Sisters Duet Album.
